Who We Are

Dominion Gaming is an international organization of mature gamers (18+) focusing on a variety of games including massively-multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), first-person shooters (FPS), and browser-based games. We are primarily based in the United States with a sizable European contingent. The Dominion focuses on casual gaming in a relaxed atmosphere. Required activity, minimum experience, tryouts, and system requirements - that's the kind of stuff we don't do.

A large number of Dominion Gaming members are active or veteran members of the armed forces. At any one time, you can find a handful of our members deployed to overseas locations supporting combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We're the gaming club for the working parent, the part-time gamer, the active military member who can't be on five nights a week for 8 hours at a time. Respect, honor, maturity, and real-life first are our core values.

Our Club's Organization

For administrative purposes the club is organized into military-like units which closely mirror those found in real-world military formations. Units are organized around specific Dominion-supported game platforms and members are assigned to these units based on their game of preference. Although units are game-specific, a member's unit of assignment does not in any way limit them to participating only in that game.

The Dominion is overseen by a Command Group (CG) which consists of four senior officers. The CG forms the ruling council of the clan. They hold the burden of financial solvency, website administration, and server upkeep. They are also responsible for the judicial functions of the club, such as recruiting and disciplinary action. The primary role of the CG is to serve the club's membership, allowing members to focus on having fun!

Why so structured?

While most gaming clans tend to be a bit 'looser' in their organization, we find that having a more structured layout helps with not only the administration of our club, but the overall morale, as well.

You see, by having a set rank and promotion structure, it allows for members to be rewarded outside the game, as well as inside. If someone shows acumen as a field commander, they may very well be given 'command' of their own Dominion unit. In doing so, it assists our newer members (as well as club veterans) with finding a niche in our gaming community, and helping the club grow as a whole.

What are the advantages of membership?

  • Membership in the Dominion's in-game clans/guilds and wearing of the [DOM] tag. Doing this shows you as a member of an elite, mature organization of online gamers. This is a badge of pride and respect.
  • Dedicated voice chat server (TeamSpeak) which is used for in-game communication and general club activities.
  • Professionally built and maintained website, where each member has their own service record listing ranks, awards, games played, and other club accomplishments.
  • Competitions and Prizes. The Command Group and senior club leadership will run periodic competitions for prizes such as computer gear, games, retail gift cards, and game time cards. As a member, you will have the opportunity to compete and share in the winnings from these matches.

  • Reserved slots on Dominion-sponsored game servers, as applicable. Our hosted game server list is constantly changing so please seek up to date information on our recruiting forum. As of this writing, the Dominion currently sponsors two Call of Duty 4 servers and one World in Conflict server.

  • Camaraderie, respect, and a feeling of family.

Requirements

The following requirements must be met prior to acceptance as a Dominion member:

  • Maturity. First and foremost, we need to know that you have the maturity to play in a civilized, adult manner. As such, it is VERY RARELY that we accept members under the age of 18. (Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Command Group and the prospective under-age member must be directly sponsored by a current Dominion member in good standing.)
  • Teamwork-Oriented. All members need to demonstrate their willingness to work as a TEAM with other Dominion members, no matter what the situation. Whether in game or out, our support of each other must be so solid that it cannot be shaken.
