Forces Commander Report #50
Posted by General Drax Remlinger on 28 January 2010
Welcome to my 50th report as the FC of the Dominion. We have faced many challenges over the last two years, but we have also made great progress thanks to the great membership we have here. Without you guys, we couldn't keep things rolling. I have been very quiet over the last few months due to some continued RL things beyond my control and to be honest about it, I was on the verge two months ago of resigning and letting some fresh faces run the show. After discussing things with Marty and Turtle, we decided that wouldn't be in our best interest at this point and what we really needed was to put our phase two of the roster reformation in place.
I am sure some of you have either seen some changes, been affected by some changes, or will be affected at some point. We really want to get away from the whole gig of assigning new members of a unit by merits of what game they are playing at that point in time. It really does short change that member as well as the rest of the Dominion who, like the CG, enjoy getting to know our new guys. We don't say this is a family for no reason, we really look at it like that. Like any family, there are problems, but there are also some fabulous times we have that can be looked backed on down the road as a really great memory. I have so many here that I cannot even begin to list them all. The people that have came and went, I have known each one of them, some better than others, but we have always tried to make that connection.
One of the major changes we made recently is the starting of implementation of a new duty list for each CG post. It was not very proportional and that was causing some inefficiency in some areas while being to hands on in other areas. We are trying to fix all that and as you may have noticed, Marty has been sticking his fingers into that sacred roster we cherish so highly. Some would say, hey Drax, you sure an Aussie can be trusted with that stuff? J/K. Marty has and is continuing to do an outstanding job as our Operations Officer and he has pretty much the run of things unless it is a club matter. I am proud to have him on the staff and to also call him my brother. Thanks so much for all you are doing Marty, I'd go insane without you.
Not to short change our tech department and even more so because you don't see them as much but I must continue to give props to Bakuto who is filling in for Turtle who is still in the sandbox. He should be back in March sometime and we can't wait for him to get back stateside. These two guys keep the lights running around the Dominion and without their tireless work, we would be a pen and paper club. So thanks you two, nothing works here without you.
On a personal note, I am now running our Evony unit and hopefully we can get that group back to running normally. It really is in a bad place right now and we could use the members there. If you have some free time and don't mind trying out a browser based, free game, come join us. www.evony.com. or check the forums for details or pm me directly. Always glad to help out.
Last but not least, it is time for our annual anniversary awards to be submitted. All leaders are to get recommendations in to my no later than the end of the first week of February which is around the 6th. You can find information on this award in the manual under the policies and regulations link on the left menu. We recognize up to the top 10 percent of the club who is really out there furthering the Dominion in some way. And do keep in mind this is for the last 12 months not just the here and now. If you need help with that, let me know as this is a FC award only.
Well enough babbling from me for now. Look for additional Evony reports from me to come soon until I find us a shiny new leader. Thanks you guys for all you do and continuing to be a part of the Dominion. If you have any questions or concerns, I'm only a pm away.
